If you are using Maxthon or Brave as a browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, you should know that these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse. The most common causes of this issue are: There were things I liked about spartan ops like the cutscenes and banter between roland, spartans, science teams etc, but most of the gameplay itself is just boring or frustrating.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. Similarly there's no postgame mission report after each episode, so I can't see how many kills or deaths I had, or how long the mission took. Honestly I don't care about having pars for each mission but being able to get multikill medals and such in game is an easy was to artificially increase the fun value of the mode (at least we have the Grunt Birthday skull). Scoring: I don't recall if the original in halo 4 had it but OPs has no scoring or timing options. Spawns: I'm glad there's no life system like in firefight (imagine that nightmare) and that you can go rambo killing enemies and die without worrying about resetting (which sometimes because of lack of powerweapons/ammo is the only real option) but often when you respawn you're right in front of the enemies and they can get you spawntrapped (especially frustrating on defend objectives). Also playing solo means warthogs are mostly useless since they either have no one to gun, or rarely a marine who dies after the first EMP hits us. Lack of AI companions: I understand it was supposed to be a semi-MP experience played with friends, but at the same time I feel like an invincible S4 buddy (Thorne probably) ingame like Reach had would have been a good choice to balance out solo play. Length of levels: Almost every level feels like it drags on longer than it needs to, except the few that give me actually fun vehicles to use, then they end too quickly after getting the vehicle. Some maps you are given a bunch of crates with infinite rocket launchers, sometimes you are given a single rocket launcher and a bunch of ARs (and either way you'll probably end up fighting 4+ hunters). Map Equipment: Following up from the loadout problem is the inconsistency of weapons/ammo/vehicles on the map. Loadouts: I don't necessarily have a problem with the loadout system generally, but the fact that it uses the same loadouts as MP means you have to split between choices that are useful for MP vs OPs. If we had gotten Firefight instead and if the multiplayer launched with Legendary Slayer instead of Infinity Slayer, Halo 4 could have actually had a chance. They didn’t even attempt to make the story in the game interesting. Our Spartans had no role in the story besides existing as Fireteam Crimson. Miller was just a whiny “Spartan” that called enemies bad guys. The story ended up not even really mattering. If we were just going to play in the same areas with the same enemies, why didn’t we just get an expanded Firefight instead? They don’t make up for the boring mess that the mode is 90% of the time. There were moments that were neat like fighting in the Infinity and disarming the nukes but they are few and far in between. So any semblance of a challenge is totally absent. And with no real penalty for dying, you can just throw yourself at the enemies until you eventually win. Every single chapter is just fighting swarms of enemies and pressing buttons to fight the next wave. Our Spartans weren’t in any cutscenes and we were playing in the same maps over and over. I wish they had just scrapped this mode altogether and put the extra $50 into the campaign or multiplayer.ĭon’t know why everyone is downvoting you because you’re right. It does get a little better in the second half of the mode, where the maps get slightly more varied and interesting but it’s not hard to improve on missions that seem like they were made by some teenager in Gary’s Mod.īaffling how this was approved by a AAA studio and Microsoft. If it was going to be such a problem, why didn’t they just bring back firefight instead? Use some modified missions from the campaign, add scoring, rounds, skull, etc. They even reuse the SAME MAPS MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE SAME CHAPTER.ĭid this mode just have no funding? It honestly feels like they dumped these missions off to one guy to complete over a weekend. The missions pretty much consist of completing basic boring objectives in reused levels from the campaign and multiplayer while they throw an ungodly amount of enemies at you for filler. It is honestly amazing how little effort they put into this mode. I’ve been replaying spartan ops in MCC for the first time since Halo 4 on the 360 to get some achievements and it is shockingly bad.
